After much heart-searching and looking at the practicalities, we have decided to get a larger motorhome. We love our old Talbot, but the limitations are many. OK when we were away very little, maybe 5 weeks a year, along with day trips and some weekends. But now we are retired (me now, her at the end of the year) we intend to spend more time away. The problem is we have two bench seats that are not comfortable to sit on for long, every night we have to make up the bed and then get the bedding out and of course put it all away in the morning, The shower although good is small. So we want a small A-Class.
We are looking at Hymer mainly for the confirmed winterisation and construction. A 500 series would be around the mark as we want to try and keep to around 6 mtrs. Our budget is not huge, up to about £25,000 so we accept that it will be an older one. Apart from the normal age related wear and tear, is there anything else to be aware of with an older Hymer? Also, of course there are other makes, would be interested in views on those too, but as we intend some very cold trips, it would need winterisation.
Thanks in advance.
