Hello has anybody been there recently? Its years since our last visit. So I am, looking for suggestions of things to do and see plus places to camp in the van

One of our challenges last time was to visit all the distilleries and collect a bottle

Ok I will sell the van and stop roaming,

However the other half says we are still going to Islay and jura so my info quest is still on.

Possibly one of my biggest Scottish island disappointments

Maybe because we have already done the western isles

It all seemed like a large farm, all arable no mountains, Jura looks different but we couldn't get on to the ferry due to tide heights, and our 8.2m motorhome length and you can only get to Jura from Islay

But our highlights, were discovering Botanist gin (Bruichladdich distillery) and Bunnahabhain whiskey

Not many wild camp options although we did find the highest point on Islay at the bird reserve car park

Hi, islay wild camping. Car park at port Hellen, at the side of the airfield, Kiloman beach (2miles of sand), bird nature reserve car park several parking spot driving towards port and there is also a camp site. All the distilleries have cafes etc. Jura one road in and out, a small cafe very few places to wild camp. We did islay in an RV.
