Listening to phone-in I was amazed just how many listeners have their central heating on. Covid numbers are on the increased could this be the reason. I am sitting here in shorts and tee shirt the doors and windows are open. It will be November before we have any thoughts of the big switch on.
How about your good selves, is it on or off.

It's because you're at the less civilised end of the UK up north it's getting chilly although I'm feeling it more cause I have covid ATM

Oh sorry to hear that wino, it is getting cooler here but still around 15c today. Covid loves warm stale air, best to keep it cool and fresh.

I've not put mine on but it's getting cool in the house now. I put my long Johns on, a shirt, jumper and then fleece. Also on standby, depending how cold, is beanie hat, neck warmer and thinsulate gloves. I'll have to maybe put a finger hole in them so I can type 😏

Oh also extra wooly socks and I've set up my heated foot mat downstairs (allowed as it's only 30w😎)

I'll probably have the A/C on heating mode from November onwards (set on 16c😆)

Not forgetting my feathered friend of course, I made him a USB heated perch.😇

Can you give me some scientific data to support that?. It sounds like you're mixing up environments good to avoid spread of covid with ones to be in once you have it!

Just been sitting on the garden step it is coolish but a lovely day to be out in the sunshine with a coffee
You'd get pretty wet doing that here today and cold. But it's a bit like when it's hot in the UK and people say it's not worth going abroad I go because I want to go to the place not just because it's hotter. I'd sooner put up with the climate here for the lifestyle

Why is it ever turned off?

With the timers and stats set at the temperature that we are comfortable with it just works when needed.

One exception, it is set to 'Frost setting' when we are away.

Likewise in the camper, set to 16 degrees on the Eberspacher control and it comes on in the night when required. Sometimes tweek it up temporarily in an evening.

It depends if our house got a bit chilly after 9 pm I don't think id bother turning the heating on.

Yes, from now on ours is set like that. It did not come on last night as the portable remote thermostat was in the nice cosy lounge

I may need to switch on the invertor aircon in January if it does get a bit chilly in Turkyie but going out in December will still be shorts and shirt in the day and fleece in the evenings.

Yes, had to turn our thermostat up to 19 ° yesterday morning. I did have base layer, top and cardi on but the ends of my fingers had no blood in. The temperature in the house was 17°. So today has come on automatically to 19 and is much more comfortable.
As often said on these forums, there are no pockets in shrouds.

SWMBO thinks she has turned it on by increasing the temperature on the thermostat, luckily she has no idea the boiler is set to hot water only and I may have forgotten to show her how change it and also luckily for me she doesn’t check out this forum.

We woke up to frost on the cars this morning and the heating is still off!!! Mrs R is talking about it going on in the evenings if this cold snap persists! I can see an argument on the horizon. Now where is that thermostatic control!!!
