Just had one of those pop up news things and as you can see they say you have to have the speed stickers on if your van is above 3500kg in France. I have not heard of this ,is it correct .

I thought it was Goods Vehicles only, unless they’ve changed it🤷‍♂️
 
Fake news.
Been driving many thousands of km through France in a 4500kg van for several years and it’s never been an issue.
You do see these sticker occasionally on French vans but certainly not all.

Bit like A frames, some get away with it some don't, for the sake of a couple of quid!!!

When I re-registered my 4005kg Cheyenne here, DREAL checked that the 80/100/110 discs were displayed to the rear.....

If you're UK-registered, they are not required.
 
As above ! Uk reg vans are not on the data base for weight in France or taxation ( UK ) class
 
So, that news flash is wrong on two counts

1. The speed limit is NOT always 80 kph. There are stretches of highway where 90 kph is permitted as signed

2. The speed limit markers are only obligatory on French-registered vehicles above 3.5 t
