Is this the right way to level?

I'm an absolute beginner and just bought a motorhome that came with these levelling items:

My assumption is that we'd use the levelling ramps where the ground is so uneven that one or two wheels need to be elevated. For slightly less uneven ground where the body only needs to be slightly raised but the wheel stays on the ground, use the jack to raise the chassis and prop the adjustable stands under the chassis. Is that correct?

I'm hesitant about using the adjustable stands if a wheel needs to be completely off the ground, or is that fine as well?
 
You are almost there the ramps has you say are to level you up, the adjustable stands go at the back of the van under chassis to stop the van rocking about when you are walking about, or it's windy, I never bother with the stands.

You are correct with yellow ramps 👍 the Ali stands are put under chassis to stop back end rocking and the jack could be used to aid bounce on step or change a wheel 😀

never ever rely on that type of stand to support a vehicle when changing a tyre or lifting the van. They will collapse like they are made from toffee and totally unsafe

Fine to take the rock out of the rear of a van when on a site, otherwise useless

Unless you are on hard standing the jack things are useless, once you have walked inside the van it will have made them sink in and they won't be doing anything, leave them at home, save on the weight and hassle (y) :Smile:

No one suggested using the stands for changing a wheel😉
MB you can take a bit of ply,say 1 ft sq to stop the stands sinking into the ground 👍

Sorry, my eyes haven't adjusted to these new reading glasses I got today. Absolutely nothing to do with it being Friday night, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...

My relative in Australia has a 4x4 with steadies to fit under the rear chassis when using his roof tent. They are known as bonking bars.
We dont seem to have used our levelling ramps much with the Rienza but the wind down rear legs really help during windy weather like storm Dennis.

The stands are indeed to stop rocking but you don't need to to use the jack them pop them in. Just put them under wind them up with the lever on the threaded rod

You have started as we all do with lots of gear and good intentions, in a couple of years you will most likely be much less particular. As long as our heads are higher than our feet, that’ll do now.
Less faffing=more beer.

Sounds familiar, vaguely level and 90% of the water goes down the plug hole is level enough for me.

What are you on about ................... I have to lean down to get the remote out of the door side pocket, and if the van a little bit to far out of kilter, I have to press two buttons and even worse, if the battery goes in the remote I have to get up and walk to the back of the van to operate the jack from the control panel, ........................ what's that if it's not manual labour. :hot:

If its a tad off kilter, you blame her and tell her to move to the other side, and again you ask Yvette where the new batteries are.

No Alexa, for that very reason, reds under the bed and all that, but Bloody hell, have you been hiding in our van. :Eeek:

I had them when I had a swift sundance 590 RL years ago, they were okayish and as a cheap way of stopping a bit of rocking about were pretty good I thought. If they do sink and the van starts rocking again just adjust them or say Bollox to it and live with it.
