Struggling to log into our Meta account to control our no start system. Continuously rejected with an “authentication error” message. Any one else struggling or is it just us??

Hmmm, even with a password reset we’re seeing the same authentication issue trying to log back in. Before anyone asks, the login data is stored in a Password Manager 😜

Good job we paid £50 for an override fob, but not overly impressed that the first trip out with the system active, it decides to throw a hissy fit and log us both out of the account 🤔

To be continued ….

Had a similar issue about 3 weeks ago. We were ready to move off the site and I had "deadlock" activated via the app, even with the fob in the vehicle it will not start. I tried a number of options and started to get really worried. I called them up which connected me to the call center, no real advice other than they would reset the password and the great news that they had removed the deadlock for me. Next turn of the key and we were up and running.

As of this morning we still cannot log in to the app but the master override key fob allows us to start the vehicle. I’ve had to leave the master fob with the garage as I have been unable to send a “service mode” command 🙁

I never bothered with the fob, but after reading your post I think it’s worth investing in one, but I can’t find anywhere on the app to buy , any ideas?

We bought ours at the same time as having the device installed by Vanbitz. Bloody glad we did as we’d have been completely stuffed without it 😬

Anyone know the correct telephone number for MetaTrak UK? The one listed on their website comes up as unrecognised 😳

It’s a tracking device and an engine start blocker. Quite clever but we had a problem parked under a tree. It allowed me to set the engine stop but not to set to start. Thankfully Stephen Langtoftlad was on site and towed me to where we could get a signal.

The NON Starter is dependent upon getting a mobile signal. As we know, some things affect these signals.

I see people using their non-starter whenever they leave the vehicle. Why? IMO that is not what it is for. I only activate it when there is a chance someone can get hold of my keys. Like when it and my keys are at home. When you leave your van on a site and you take your keys with you, using the non-starter is, well a non-starter for me. Arming it is just asking for trouble, in the event of all too familiar 3g failure, with no gain or increase in security whatsoever.

Got through on this number, spoke to a nice lady called Naomi, but I need to wait while they look into the issue 🙁 Good job we had an override fob is all we keep saying to each other 😏

Once they get back to me I’ll post the resolution.

Ours was set up to auto-arm within 20 seconds of switching off the ignition. We just assumed that was what everybody’s did 🤷‍♂️

Ah yes I think if you have that set up then you have to have the over-ride fob too, just in case it auto sets in an area with a weak or intermittent signal.

If you talk to MetaTrack, or VanBitz you can buy one (y)

There are many different versions of the Non Starter, which as the name suggests is an immobiliser.

The differences are down to age, as we have supplied the unit for nearly 20 years in different guises, and versions. If anyone is unsure what they have or, how theirs works and they can drop us an email info@vanbitz.com and we will tell them.

As it is a security product we do change the way that it works, and the way that it looks, bear in mind we can offer different options on installation based on the customers requirements.

But fundamentally, the system on my camper is different to the system on Jim's camper and Jim's is different to Sunlovers, so this is one product that comparing "notes" is confusing.

I have just been sent brand new user credentials to allow access to the app. That bit’s working again now, thankfully. I have yet to phone them back to see if they can shed any light on why the app was working fine at 16:00pm yesterday when we sent an unblock code and started our journey without issue, but then upon having arrived at the destination two hours later, to find that the next time I checked the app, we had both been logged out of the phone app and no amount of re-entering our stored credentials gave us a return other than "authentication issue". Password reset function used several times, and whilst we were sent new temporary passcode info almost straight away, despite getting a "successful" notification of the password having been changed/updated, we still had no access to the app login.

Note that this wasn't a case of having no phone signal. Where we were pitched we were pulling in +60% signal strength on 4G. The real issue is what happened to our account at the MetaTrak end? Both of our mobiles carry the app, on the same account, and Mrs Sunlover hadn't touched hers for at least three weeks, and yet, she'd been logged out of the app and couldn't log back in either.

I've said it earlier, I'll say it again, the £50.00 for a master reset key-fob is a must-have. Without it in our possession, we would have been dead in the water (metaphorically speaking) and unable to start our van until someone was available on the end of a phone to get us authorised to use our account again.

** update ** I have now had a conversation with MetaTrak, and they are telling me that I should never have been able to access the app login using my email address .... which puzzles me no end as I have never logged out of the app and it's been working just fine on my phone since the system was installed and fully demonstrated on the 23rd Aug. I am at a loss as to what's occurred, but feeling relieved that it appears to have been resolved (even if I am left with a question as to what happened, as surely if I had the wrong details I'd never have gained access to the app in the first place, let alone be able to open the app and send an unblock code to allow us to start the engine?)

I see no benefit in that at all, if I am in possession of my keys, I don't arm it.
Then that surely leaves you open to hot wiring, which some folks can do in short shrift. I tend to arm mine if it’s out of sight. (Not necessarily on a site or funster meet though)

Yep, I think that’s why I have always used the block engine, no problems in 4 years 🤞, there was one small problem which funsters will remember, everyone’s app had closed and asked for a password, nobody knew their password so we had to call MetaTrak for a new one.

Me too! Then make sure it's disarmed overnight if we are wildcamping.

To me the peace of mind of knowing that the engine is disabled is why I bought the system, which automatically arms every time the ignition is turned off (after about 20 seconds that is). Love it!
