iPad and iPhone making noises I can’t explain! (1 Viewer)

It’s just sitting there, not being used, and it makes a noise. Not a Mail or WhatsApp notification.
What’s going on. Somebody once told me that the devices are acknowledging that one of its contacts has just logged out........or something.
Fact or fiction?
Can I stop it, should I try to take control?

Have a look in settings. There is a section that deals with sounds and notifications. Mine goes off all the time when something from my diary crops up.

Mines on silent apart from calls & messages.

Looks like a trial and error job to switch stuff off and see how it affects my “experience/enjoyment” of my phone/iPad.
Just got message from phone “ 23 null notifications received”
That tells me a lot!

Swipe down from top of screen and it should show you any notifications

We don’t get any unknown noises from our iPads or iPhones, all noises are accompanied by a visual notification
Have you got many apps on yours, one might be doing something it shouldn’t!

My wife’s iPhone started making mystery beeps but there was no notification when she swiped down. It turned out to be a faulty app which wasn't registering the notifications properly and it was only cured when the bug was fixed and the app updated.
