I have a 1600wattinverter which i want to install permanently running off two leisure batteries. I want the installation to be neat and professional looking so I am contemplating the heavy duty cable runs from the batteries. Both of my leisure batteries are at the rear under the lower floor ( with suitable covers) about 300 mmm from the back wall of the van and side by side in separate boxes, hanging below the floor. I want to be abe to plug in whatever without having to delve in the lower storage area when i use it.
My floor lockers do not have a floor to themselves as the lockers open into the lower storage area so you can store quite tall objects being 350mm from top to the bottom of the store and then the seat height. I am formulating the idea of mounting the inverter bolted to the back wall, run-in the heavy duty cables to the batteries down and across to the batteries suitably protected from what is stored on top of them. Fused of course! Then plugging a length of main cable into the 13Amp socket on the inverter with the tail of that lead into the back of a 13am socket mounted on a wall of the floor locker facing into the habitation area.. I will then mark the socket "Inverter Only" just to ensure that it is not used for except heavier load stuff like our low wattage microwave, etc. I have plenty of supporting struts to run the cables across the void so that is not an issue.
Can anyone see any snags i have not thought of. Any suggestions would be more than welcome. I have researched how to hookup inverters to leisure batteries so think i have that stored in my head.

That's sort of how mine is although the plug in fly lead is quite short and the inverter has an MCB protection to the outlet which you may need to add separately. I also have a remote switch next to the wall socket which means the inverter can be hidden away wherever is most convenient

I would recommend the inverter is fitted a close to the batteries as possible.
Install a battery isolator switch through to the cab to turn off the inverter when not in use. (Through the cabinet wall immediately behind the inverter)

I use a single three core artic blue cable directly to the inverter sockets only.
