can anyone recommend videos or vlogs for a newbie to learn about the practicalities of mhoming?...particularly in europe and in larger aclass? I found one but in german with terrible translation subtitles. I am interested in the 'more mature' motorhomers rather than the younger surfing lifestyle ones which seem to be the majority on my youtube searches...
thanks

Travel Trolls are entertaining but I certainly wouldn’t use them as a teaching aid on “how to do it”. More how not to do it.

Agreed, I've watched parts of their various videos (giving them the benefit of the doubt), and they're just 'entertainers'. very little proper help to first timers.

However their followers (who I suspect aren't moho owners) like them a lot, if you like 'Gogglebox' type of TV :sicker:, you'll probably like Travel Trolls.

Better to ask on here and pick up tips on your travels .Most of these so called Bloggers are just trying to earn an income at least on here it's good honest opinions most of the time!. Learn as you go .

Kinging it on YouTube.
They are van lifers but have some good ideas and really do show some of the journey.
Quite a funny watch as well.

After viewing a number of Travel Trolls videos they can teach you what NOT to do. Certainly not good examples.

John and Mandy are one of the best. They live full time in their MH. They have recently returned from Spain. Probably the best match to what you asked for.

I watch loads though, mostly self-builds.

My all time favourites are "From Rust to Roadtrip. Their travel videos around the Balkans were great. They're a relatively smaller channel, and deserve more views in my view.

Other favourites are:

Jits Into The Sunset
Campervibe
Mels Van Life
Overlanding Sophia
Vanwives
the exPAWers

I really enjoy watching John and Mandy. Also watch the expawers (older vlogs while they were travelling are best) plus Jitsintothesunset. Perhaps the ex pawers and jits are more escapist videos while we can't travel but they do give good ideas on places to go.

Bob Earnshaw makes decent videos for newbie motorhomers, is def not young and hip and has hundreds of helpful videos on his channel (y)(y)

I even managed to stay awake and watch one of his videos all the way through :)

Just had a quick look at their site, looks very professional and a world away from the Travel Trolls kids stuff.

Thanks for the link, will definitely watch some more.

Interesting blog of a couple of Alaskans driving 2300 miles to Canada during covid.

One of the most underrated channels. They seem lovely too and do everything on a shoestring budget. Recently they went to a scrap yard looking for old windows for their new project. Really great viewing.

Yes their making a nice income from T shirts ,buy a coffee and dropping the odd sponsorship name . Noticed they dropped the monthly budget share as another blogger had the taxman on his back .

Not You tube but a fantastic travel blog. Well written and very informative.

No update from them since 2019, when they did an amazing trip around Turkey.

I use their blog as a travel guide to places we visit. The standard of content and writings, I would not be too surprised if it's written by someone who is a professional writer.

Nothing wrong with putting out good YouTube videos and making a little money or even "a nice income" from adverts or selling mugs or Tshirts or stickers etc.

And I'd rather watch any of the Youtubers in my post than the sort of rubbish we have on telly where the "stars" are paid literally hundreds of thousands to millions.

Gary Liniker - £1.75 Million.
Graham Norton - £725,000.
Huw Edwards - £465,000
Fiona Bruce - £450,000

The expawers have travelled all around Scandinavia, Spain, Portugal, Italy etc. I love their dogs and how they do travel on a budget. Their latest vlog is about not being able to wild camp in Portugal now and worried it will be the case elsewhere. Also watch Tread the globe and enjoy them. The Indie Projects is good too though at the moment they are renovating g a barn in lockdown. All their old vlogs on travel still there.

Thanks for all those suggestions.....as a tech-adverse book-reader, it's opened up a whole new world. There is plenty of interest there for sure. Though curiously, I haven't seen anyone in an AClass ...?
