Am in the process of getting quotes and came across this in Confort Policy detail

So if your vehicle is stolen, you would have to wait 36 months to get a payout/replacement! Surely not!

No. I believe they are saying that the replacement only applies within the first 36 months of your ownership from new. After that they just pay you the current valuation or thereabouts.

Or does that read "stolen and not recovered equal a replacement moho if the vehicle is under 36 months of age"

I think it applies to stolen (and not recovered) or written off.

I think it is just bad grammar or a typo, but I would want clarification before buying.

Hardly worth the paper it's written on with a 15,000 mile limit, But I still insure with Comfort as it's similar terms with most companies.
I know someone who wrote off their van at 1½ years old & they were over the 15,000 they were very pleased with the payout Comfort gave them.
