Best time to get quotes is 23 days before renewal as that's the 'sweet spot' for prices. As quotes are usually valid for 30 days you are then armed with the alternatives for when the renewal arrives.

Normally they give a n online quote valid for 30 days.

If your talking to a person they will give you that impression

AiB tried it I say OK no problem if its different we will cross that bridge then

Every single one I've done is always for 30 days without exception.

My renewal exactly doubled from £380 to £760 and that was with no changes, no claims just another years NCD.
I did ring them and ask if they could do any better and was told no.
Unsurprisingly I didn't renew and went with another insurer, exactly the same cover for £218

My comfort went up by £120 a month or so ago £450 to £570
