Insurance for windscreen only (1 Viewer)

Hi.

We have an old A-class motorhome with a big windscreen which we bought a few months ago.

I have realised that the cost of windscreen replacement is massive and we don't have unlimited cover on our insurance.

Does anyone know of an insurer that would sell us insurance for the windscreen only?

Get one priced up. It may be that your windscreen cover is sufficient. If it isn't, speak to your insurers about increasing the value.

Ours was on our policy as windscreen cover ,and it did not effect our next policy, cost £3000 to replace with £75 EXCESS .The excess we paid the men who fitted it on our drive .A class definitely need cover .Your own insurance should quote you.

Mine was this too as I found out after mine got cracked in France ended up paying £1200 out of my own pocket. I'll be searching for a new insurer in October

Normally if over the windscreen insurance limit they just treat it as a normal claim, thats what Comfort do.

I refused auto glass as the windscreen was £2200 plus fitting (and 2 week delivery) from memory and went with my own source (PSV glass) which was much cheaper and the same Hymer glass, fitted at their premises in Manchester due to the weather (they even gave me a lift back to Leeds and picked me up later in the day.
No mention of a claim from my insurers but got the £600 cheque quickly.
