Anyone recommend particular windscreen covers for a Ford based Chausson coachbuilt, also, how do people secure them against theft if left on in storage ?
Thanks

paragon silverscreens are the original and still the best. attached to the vehicle by fitting the attached pockets over the cab doors before shutting and locking. Never heard of anyone having a set stolen in storage, but with some scum, they will steal anything even when it means destroying it to get it off

As mentioned above original Silverscreens http://www.silverscreens.co.uk/ are excellent but expensive new so worth looking out for secondhand Sometimes they list "seconds" on eBay at a cheaper price & reported to have no visible faults.
Other options are https://rainbowscreens.co.uk/ , https://taylormade-covers.co.uk/ & http://www.minsterproducts.co.uk/Polar.htm
Internal universal (Milenco type) silver screens are handy if no Remis front blinds & you are staying somewhere that you might want to leave without going outside if wild camping or on some aires but not as good insulation wise as the external ones.
Some use cheap or old screen covers for storage then better ones when camping - ones that don't fold down & split into three sections might be better security wise but all the above fold down. Hope that helps & do post to let us know what you opt for as it may help others reading this :)

I had Taylormade 3 part external covers for my first R-V. They stood up well to 2 years of virtual fulltime use all year round when I was Self Building, and we lived in it full time. Both on-site and in Spain. One panel degraded, Mr Taylor himself made the 3 to 4 hr round trip to bring it`s replacement. He reckoned he`d had a bad batch of material.

That was the same chap that took me away from his stall at a motorhome show when I asked for a refund because of the poor quality of stitching and the fit. Rude obnoxious man

Your not the first to comment on his behaviour?. I had no issue with him, he was extremely obliging, going (literally) the extra mile for me. BUT that was back in 1998/9. In later life he got a lot more grumpy, and it is rumoured he had a growth? and other age related issues. His daughters now run the company.

He died a few years ago.

We have only ever used taylormade screen covers. On our second set in Over 13 years and they are in use all year round. Testament enough me thinks for these great covers.

We like Taylormade too- also have one of their bike covers

Taylor made for us, on 2nd set of long line, first brought from Taylor made, 2nd set second hand. First set are a bit embarrassing so used in storage, sunday best now used whilst on site. Like longline as cover over grill, stops water and draughts.

Anyone used the Polar screens - these are considerably cheaper than the others ?

We’ve just had the Velcro replaced on our Taylormade‘s brilliant job by the girls. 👍

We have their full mesh screens & they are very good - if you search on Minster & Polar on here you should see some feedback from owners. Know their silver screen covers look well made but others would have to advise on durability. They don't offer discounts (we've asked!) but do keep their profit margins low hence the competitive pricing - the screen covers are a sideline to their main business.

We have just bought one the quality looks good but time will tell

I have had multiple sets of both silverscreens and taylormade. Both are good, but the silverscreens are far better quality. One set I got with a van were black having been stored under a tree in all weathers. A scrub with a brush and soap and water, then rinse with a hose and they were good as new again

Hi Gixer, I have just put an insulated screen up for sale, made by Silver Screen complete with bib for covering vents to keep van cosy. I have just changed vans so needed a different one. Have a look and see what you think.

The last van I had A class Hymer. was once owned by J&M designs (silverscreens) P70 JM
It came with a perfect set of screens for that van.

Also with it came a set of exterior thermal screens which I have no idea as to which van fit.
Just put them up on my 2004 Ducato they fit over doors OK but a little short.
Have they shrunk :LOL::unsure:
72" across lower screen edge 68"(ish) top edge
Any idea anyone?

Received my thermal Silverscreens from Silverscreens, great service, quality is excellent and not one drop of condensation inside the windscreen and I like it hot! Yes, they are expensive £199 but, I think, worth every penny 😍😍

Just joined and saw this thread - My first post, so be gentle with me. I don't even own a van yet. I live in yprus and the U.V is so strong here it can eat the plastics in the cab. So we all use some sort of reflector if our vehicles are left standing. For some reason, I woke up this morning thinking about solar panels for recharging batteries etc.

Then I began to wonder if you could make Photovoltaic window screens - so they reflect heat, aid blackout/privacy but also generate enough to charge a laptop or phone.....during the day obviously! I know P.V materials are coming on to the market, I wonder if anyone has seen something suitable?

Flexible panels come to mind but never used them ,good idea of yours though.

A mate and his Mrs "emigrated" to Cyprus last September and are enjoying it.

We have had two Silverscreens in 16 years but the current one will need replacing in the spring.
