if anyone is looking at self build or is considering changing their layout (if they have the option of course, perhaps because they need to change damaged worktops etc) - this might be worth considering if you already have a power set up that includes a large inverter. They also have a 1500W option if needed

Actually, no i dont think it is - good spot ! my mistake ! after all, you wouldnt need an inverter if it was DOH!!

Three years ago I reported that the Ikea Induction Hob was much more
expensive at the Ikea store at Mercia than the Ikea stores in the UK.

The difference in price was quite large I recall.

I appreciate that Ikea's version is nominally 2000w and therefore of no use to peeps who's
vans don't have a large capacity Inverter but there are some that do and there's the use
of it on EHU.

fair price, but it cant be installed 'into' the worktop, though that can be an advantage in being able to use an induction hob outside (as i found out earlier this year!)

I think i bought the last 2 they had in stock. Odly they are dearer on sterling power site and you have to pay postage

Thanks we already have them as we use induction at home but good point.
We have been using a portable one in the motorhome

I use a Vango 800w one off the inverter in the Motorhome.

It works really well.

Does wallop the batteries though.

I have just plugged it in at home and it works very well on the worktop,although only for 30seconds i will try again another day on a scap of wood to see if it gets hot underneath out of interest. But we fully intend to fit into a worktop in the camper though
