If Buying a second hand Motorhome from say, Germany for €60k and getting it registered in the uk ...

What other costs are involved? Any tax or registration? Paying for paperwork?

The logistics and insurance I will think about later...

Those that have done it I’d be interested in your extra cost experience please..

In a nutshell, very few additional costs for paperwork etc, a few hundred quid, but depending on mods required to the van that could increase ( eg new headlights etc)

We bought new so slightly different, I believe you wont pay VAT if the van is older than 6 months. You will have to change the lights and speedo to RHD and Miles then get it checked and signed at a registered MOT station, then i think it will just be the road tax when you register it.

I'm sure others who have imported a 2nd hand van will be along to confirm or dismiss my claims

I've imported 3 vans. Cost under £500 a time.
Travel costs will be more for you as you are a couple of hundred miles further away.
Basic costs will be £50 for Speedo dial, £30 for garage/mot station inspection, £100 VCA charge, £55 first registration fee plus VED of £255 (under 3.5t) or £165 ( over 3.5t).
Our travel costs for this van were £56 for 36 hour Chunnel return & £70 fuel, we were trading the last van.
If vehicle is over 6 months old and done over 6000 km not vat to pay.

If an A Class the headlamps should be adjustable if a Fiat front end will need new headlamps LED ones are expensive. Don't know if Merc or Ford lights are adjustable or not.
