Very happy IH owner here . My tip would be get your build slot booked as soon as you can . Lovely people to deal with and I recommend them 100% . There will no doubt be some comments made about how expensive they are but they are well made and depreciation is low. Free coffee and biscuits at the showroom are nice too. There are a couple on Youtube called Poshcats Camping that have the model you are looking to order , worth a look at their videos about their van.

We've an older 2008 ih which we bought 2nd hand privately and popped into to see them a few time when passing, found them most helpful even though we've never spent a penny with them.

They are extremely expensive

When I looked a few years ago I didn’t particularly like the winterisation of them, both fresh and waste underslung with the power hungry 12v only way of heating them.

Also the shower trays were plastic when I looked and there was too many IH graphics stuck all over the inside, although if you are ordering a new one you could have some control over that.

Nicely built and finished though.

I don’t mind the IH graphics on the inside cupboards because I am happy that I have one. We find the RL so comfortable both for daytime lounging and nighttime sleeping. One downside is having to store all those cushions at night if you are tall, like us, and need the whole of the bed space.
You could enquire about insulation. It seems to be a common thread on the IH Owners forum. We had to get inside the door to fit security proplates and we were disappointed with the lack of insulation, however we don’t camp in freezing conditions if we can help it.
Do get a solar panel fitted and battery master - our cab battery was drained by the alarm in a couple of weeks but we went to Vanbitz to get one fitted as are not too far away.

We bought a new N class 630rl in 2017 after four coach built motorhome , best thing we ever did , people talk about the cost , but its worth that much more if you ever want to sell it , so its swings and roundabouts, we have had no problems with it , but if you do there are no don’t want to know dealers , you get to talk to the people who built it , and the do go out of there way to help you , you will find it hard to say no once you have sat in one

I have a 630 RL. Best van I have ever owned, great build quality and the folks at IH are so helpful. As a matter of interest what is the build time at the moment?

I don’t know the build times at the mo but are not too fussed as our preferred build slot is May 2024 ( my wife’s retirement date ) The deposit is £3K ( refundable ) and our budget is £100K .

We’re on our 2nd IH630RD , only changed because Nick’s knees could no longer cope with the manual. We love it. Nearly bought the IH 680RD last year funnily enough but the trade in wasn’t enough and we were too lazy to sell privately. Nice people to deal with.
