thanks in anticipation

Hi. Any company that supplies Lorry sheets/Caravan awnings...,if not doing it themselves, will know a man that can There was a company in Stavely Derbyshire, used them a couple of times but a while back.

You can buy all kinds of pull out awnings for 4x4,s. A friend of mine has one fitted to the back of his Discovery to use an extra room when they are using there roof tent. We propped a large brolly on top of the back door when we cooked iin the back of ours.
From what I have seen of caravan style awnings these must be easier to put up.

Seen lots of these but nothing for Ducato/ Relay vans so hence the idea to re-purpose an existing caravan awning.

Otter Spotter there is an awning repair and alteration form in Bolton which we have used. Did a great job of altering an awning we had. If interested I can sort their details out for you tomorrow.

When I have time I will try to dig out the address of a company near you Burnley I think. They put a cador strip in a caravan designed porch awning but could do any type of alteration.
They appeared to be very well tooled up and I was impressed with their work. If you want to do a search in the mean time I think they were down one of the streets opposite The Turf.(y)

I've seen lots of bike racers using the normal drive away awnings on the rear of Van's, the tunnel section is usually elasticated so is pulled tight around rear of van rather than the usual tight to side. Making a good draught strip is usually the tricky bit
My brother uses a 'tailgate awning' on his galaxy s-max but they are not cheap.
I used a household sewing machine to alter my omnistor residence room, decent needle and thread were needed then seal the stitches, slow and steady.......problem was making enough room to get it in the house unfolded
Marinas will do or know people who do alterations because wheel house/cabin covers are usually made from same stuff

Thanks, I have seen a few of these but they look as though someone has stuffEd a toilet tent on the back of the van and they don’t look as though they fit properly, but thanks for your post.

I have used dobey Wyatt, just outside Marlborough, they make and repair lorry sheets, but have the kit and expertise to mend or make anything along those lines, even stitched a new window in a triumph spitfire hood, and made windows for a lambourne tractor cab.

Do you have a picture of your awning, or one like it?

Looks very much like this

Personally I wouldn't touch it, instead sell it and buy a smaller one that will be much easier to adapt if needs be - the shape of the roof on your existing one will make it a very difficult to alter and make a good job of it - I've altered and made a few awnings etc in my time as it isn't that easy when there are 'funny' shapes to contend with.
