Hi chaps & chapasses the wife's phone has gone all blank on the screen ie just a black screen showing.
The phone is still on and fully charged cannot switch off as you need to slide across the screen.
Any one had this problem?

Laurie.

Try taking the sim out it might spur the phone into action.
Otherwise I'm lost, have you googled the problem or called Apple they are helpful even with older stuff.

Try a reset, hold the home button and the on/off switch down together until the Apple logo appears on the screen, if it doesn't I can't help any further.

Try doing what @Gooney says but as the Apple logo appears keep the home button pressed and that cycles it round again and the Apple should reappear.

A hard reset may be worth a try. From memory, a long press on the On/Off button achieves this.

There is only one button on the top of the phone and two on the side for up and down volume?

The power is the one on the top of the phone. The home button is the black circle at the bottom of the screen. Hold them both down for about 10 seconds.
