Well I’m due a tax rebate,a council tax rebate and compensation for my bank account.....hahaha bloody ha!

There’s something particularly nasty about internet scammers...I think its the fact that you know you’re never going to be able to get them round the throat and bang them against a brick wall, whilst you knee them very hard in the gonads. And that’s before you kick them till there ribs are broken.

I’m not a violent man. :madder:

Current one we are getting is from "Life insurance Review Board" who tell me that our life insurances need to be reviewed following gov changes to terms and conditions, and are now no longer valid after 80 years of age. and an additional premium may be necessary to extend term of insurance.
They demand personal details, and threaten to cancel policies if you will not give details.
When i ask for policy number in question, they cannot release that under data protection, i have to give it to them.
Guy got very nasty when i called him a scammer, so i blew old railway whistle down the phone at him before hanging up.
Have called our company who confirm it is a scam, as no new guidelines have been issued, and a life policy is exactly that and the terms when taken out cannot be changed.
Be careful out there

I've started getting Bitcoin emails that appear to have got through my email protection. Anybody else?

Take a look on youtube, some techies actually turn the tables and delete all their files or take money off them.

My mother in law who had recently been widowed was a victim of scammers who gained access to her computer and threatened to wipe its content unless she paid thousands of pounds. She luckily refused but they did wipe her computer which included cherished photographs of her late husband. Unbeknown to them her brother is a real computer whizz and managed to save all her content and send a very bad virus to the scammers computer. (y)

I should perhaps add that the above was relayed to me by my MIL who does get confused so might be wrong but I do know her brother is a computer expert and programmer

If you have a lot of time on your hands, there is an excellent and worthwhile pastime of Scam Baiting , select a Nigerian General, HRMC tax consultant or Insurance company of your choice and get to work.

The Scam Baiting global community will help you with 'proof of ID', bank accounts, press cuttings of your unfortunate demise etc.

They work on a points system, what you are trying to do is send your target on a 'safari' to get your money that you accidentally wired to the wrong bank, you get extra points for hilarious photos of your target, and if you actually extract money from them, (even one dollar) you hit the jackpot.

The main object of to waste as much time and money of the target as possible, because every hour they waste trying to get money from you in a hour they are not doing it to someone else.

I too have received the Bitcoin scam.

I'm not teaching anyone to suck eggs but I've noticed that, right at the bottom of the email is the standard opportunity to unsubscribe.
I've got no doubt that pressing that just confirms that their fishing expedition has got at least a valid email.

Yes I've had a few too, no idea why as I don't do Bitcoin.

Yep it was my school email too. There were accents over every vowel which is apparently how it got through the security. I have been a very naughty girl and been on some crazy websites but if I pay 900 bitcoin I will get no more emails. The whole staff got it, hilarious. Obv forwarded you Spam account, dejected and password changed.
