We love our Hobby Van Exclusive. It’s on a Transit 2010 chassis.
Had some small rust blisters appearing where the motorhome body panel joins the cab.
Try as I may I could not find any garage to undertake the work.
Body shops didn’t want to get involved with the motorhome bodywork.
Caravan/Motorhome places also didn’t want to get involved.
So with being on the at risk register and having to shield until 31st March I thought let’s give it a go.
All paints/primers/fillers/rivets and sika ordered online.
It was a big leap of faith drilling out the rivets and prising the panel open.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained and I’m quite pleased with the result.
Fortunately all the rust was surface and no penetrating corrosion.

Cracking job

Thanks for all the comments. Hopefully it may give some inspiration to others who think they probably could do something. 👍

Well done, makes you know what’s going on with your van when you get to do it yourself, and you know it’s been done properly and will give you more confidence to do other stuff....👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Nice job there, keep the dreaded rust bug at bay for a further few years. Well done

Well done superb job
I need to buck up confidence to tackle a few bubbles on two of my locker doors. Having read and seen what you have managed my confidence is building.

Hat off to you for the undertaking, wish I had your ability as there's a few things I need doing on my own that I would never have that level of confidence to undertake, love seeing others tales of jobs undertaken though and undertaken well :)

Good job there Sir! It’s amazing what one can accomplish is you ‘give it a go’! 👌

The Daily Mail grasscutter, really?.
Nice job though (y)
I have only just got the gist of your comment 😂
My mother in law used to save her newspapers for me to use when filleting the fish I caught.
I still have a big box of them. It’s only looking at the photo that I realised they are nearly 4 years old.😳

Double post but edited to say my first husband used to do this with newspapers and filler. Certainly a bodge job. His was!. But looked ok.
