Made Sloe Gin last year, decanted it off the Sloes & thought mmmmm, they taste nice, so bought some choc bars, melted them down, stoned the Sloes ( sounds like an expression my father used to use-‘stone the crows’) and mixed in the Sloes.
Lovely!

What a brilliant idea, I'm gonna try that with the ones I've got, think I'll try it with some 85% chocolate. (y)

@Mikey RV
You’re welcome to do so, but you’ll have to get a hustle on-leaving on 6th March! :D
Where are you off to next?
Back down to Devon tomorrow for a week or so before starting work in March.

Nipped out and bought some 74% chocolate from Lidl, stoned the sloes with an olive stoner, chopped them up and added them to the chocolate, it's bloody delish !
Thanks for the inspiration @Shrimp (y)

Just had a thought, you could use some of the stoned fruit in a fruit cake!

Sloes are the fruit of the Blackthorn bush, used mainly in hedges as they have wicked thorns!
Sloe Gin is not like Gin really, after several months of having Sloes and sugar in it, it comes out like a liqueur!
Very nice slightly warmed on a very cold day.
‘Stoning’ a fruit means removing the stone!
I’m sure you’ve heard that before.
