Hi. Would any of you fellow funsters happen to know if I can use an o2 pay as you go data only sim card in the above device which was previously on a 30 day rolling contract, which I terminated when I had a Motorhome WiFi 3/4G permanent kit installed in the MH. My BIL has lost his MiFi device and I'm trying to save him the cost of purchasing a new device when I have this one sitting in the draw. I should add the device is locked on o2. I was unable to get o2 to unlock it as I hadn't meet their criteria; 3 months use. I only used it for 6 weeks.

As always, thanking you in anticipation.

Can't see why it shouldn't work. :) Only one sure way to find out! Try it. :)

Thanks DBK. I was hoping to avoid having to purchase an o2 PAYG sim unless I first knew it would work.

Get a GiffGaff simm for free (might have to top up just once for £5 to activate it) - and try it?
(GiffGaff uses O2 network)

Go on ebay and you will be able to buy an unlock code for very little money. All you need is the IMEI number you will find somewhere on your device, probably need to take the battery out to find it.

Assuming it is unlocked you should be able to put any data sim in it.
If it is locked to O2 I would say it should work with any O2 data sim.

I am on a unlocked hueii wotsit dongle.. (Cos I cannot afford a phone line.. :crying: )

And use a PAYG with Gif-Gaf... which ..(I think comes under the umbrella of o2..

Hi I bought the same piece of kit from mWIFi and bought an 02 data SIM card, it all worked straight out of the box. The modem is unlocked I believe. good luck

Hi Folks, sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm headed to a location with poor coverage except for O2 so I'm looking to purchase an O2 data SIM (pre-loaded, not pay monthly) any links where I might get such a thing? I can only find Monthly contracts at the moment - which I don't want as after a week I'll probably never use again. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure O2 stopped their Classic PAYG sims last year.
Think it's contract only now.

Second for Giffgaff £20 gets you 80GB use or lose over 30 days

Thanks, is there any advantage of paying £25 for the 'Always On' version?

£5. We have never managed to use more than 50 GB.
Pays your money, makes your choice.
OH and if travelling abroad both plans are limited to 20GB and 63 days.
