I have a camper with a fairly large boot. I would like to carry a scooter so when we arrive on a aire or site outside a town we can use the scooter to commute into town. I have looked in a couple of broucher to see how one can secure a scooter in the trunk . One way is to buy a bracket in which the back wheel of the scooter fits into. Trouble is they are around £129 and i'm not sure if they are any good. Does anyone else have a system to transport a scooter in the trunk?

I have one, it works brilliantly, and then 2 ratchet straps, one from each handle grip onto the 'loops' that are on the base unit.

Look on Amazon loads there for around the £50 We bought the type where you push onto a rocking plate then secure the wheel with a strap. The clamp is bolted to the floor our motorbike is rock solid done over eight thousand miles and it has never moved

Fixed wheel chock for the front and two floor anchor points, one either side of the scoot and ratchet down should be enough. Dont ratchet to hard where you run the risk of popping suspension seals. Front fork oil running down onto the brake is never nice.

Are you permanent in France? If in the uk you could try a few of the online bike shops like

http://www.mandp.co.uk/

or

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/

Your brochure/JPEG in the op you see one holding a black scooter for €90. That will do the job and they are about £65 in the UK. Just fix it to the floor and you could get handy bending a metal bar and powder coating it.

Thanks for the info, yes we do live permanently in France but we will be over in the UK the first week of August for a week.
