How do you seal around the toilet in a bathroom?
I have bought a Thetford c220 toilet, pretty standard unit I believe.
I have also bough a shower tray I’m looking at fitting. Being a bathroom with a shower I’m obviously concerned about water and I will need to ensure there are no leaks. Looking at the toilet I can’t really see how to achieve watertightness. First of all the shower tray does not have a cutout or a lip for this particular toilet. It’s just a flat fiberglass pan where the toilet goes.
The toilet do have somewhat of a skirt that can go over a lip in the shower tray and that would prevent leaks to a certain degree. But even looking at the back of the toilet there are other places where water would easily come in and leak through the floor if left open.
The install manual doesn’t mention this bit at all so I’m pretty stumped. Any ideas?

Mine is flat on the floor (separate shower) and the rear fits flat against the wall. If the shower tray upstand or lip prevents a flush fit against the wall you'll need to provide a false wall to mount the toilet. I'd avoid cutting the shower tray if at all possible. A few photos off the potential location would be useful.

No real pics as the bathroom isn't built yet.
The back wall will be flush with the lip of the shower tray and the shower tray has a flat floor so so far so good. I don't think cutting the tray is a very good idea. I don't even want to screw into the tray. As in the toilet is meant to be bolted to the floor, I'm not entirely happy about that either. A couple of blobs of sikaflex instead perhaps.

I could be mistaken but it looks like there should be another tray to fit to the bottom of the toilet or to the floor and the toilet drops into it.
I don't see any other reason to recess the bottom part and leave an unsightly stepback and nothing but a thin wall to seal to.

I put in a shower curtain which goes over the door and toilet.

Yes I put a curtain in ours , goes across the door and around past the toilet , saves getting the seat wet as well

I contacted the supplier of the shower tray and they said to cut the tray!
So I will go ahead and measure twice and cut the tray.
Wish me good luck! ?

personally I would seal with a neat bead of sikaflex once the toilet is properly locked into the support brackets

i would sit on top of the shower and screw through both with plenty of sealant underneath there a flat section on the bottom which would allow a good seal theres a foam seal on the back of the pan to seal against the wall and that needs to be a tight fit
they do sell shower trays the have an upstand for the toilet to sit on and a surrond plate
