Hi Guys

So there a lot of guides of how to do this and for the most part none of them work. But this method does :)

1. Take off Your rusty water expansion tank

2. Buy some of this

Jelmar CLR

any good CLR will do...

3. Plug the holes on your tank and put this stuff in it according to the instructions. I used all of it and then topped it up with water but left a 2 inch gap

4. Let it sit for 2 to 3 days rotating the tank so it gets done in equal measure

once all the rust is dissolved give it a good flush out. You can shake the tank during the process to agitate it.

5. Now but this

Amazon product ASIN B00BLKGJ2G
Barkeepers Friend

Mix half of this into your tank with warm water and again fill the tank and leave a 2 inch gap

6. Let it sit again for a couple of days rotating the tank and shaking it to get a good coverage

This tank you could not even see the water line as it was so dirty and rusty and now it's like this...
