We are not the only motorhomers living by or within what will be the new ultra low emission zone.

I can find nothing on the various websites that is of any help.

We have saved for an LPG conversion but according to the Transport for london website "Retrofit technologies will need to be certified by the government's <Broken link removed>. The CVRAS currently only has emissions reduction technologies certified for buses and coaches, although equipment suppliers can test and certify equipment."

The CVRAS approved companies and emission reduction systems - Version: 23 Date: 15.01.2020 only lists LPG conversion for Taxis

Are we going to be wasting our money converting to LPG? Do we continue to wait to see if they put alternative solutions online?

We are not letting the government force us to give up motorhoming because of the ULEZ and we will are not willing to pay £12.50 per day or £100 per day fines /surcharge etc because of where we live so all advice welcome. Many thanks :)

If you van is diesel you won't be able to convert it to LPG. If it's the van in your avatar I don't think you can get a DPF fitted to a vehicle of that age.

If it is possible to add a DPF it will cost around £3k and will need taking off and cleaning out each year, retrofit ones don't self clean.

I seriously think the omens are not good for you. Sorry.

WHY, the hell should anyone have to suffer a retrospective Infliction of such an atrocious idea. How about "Crowd funding? for a legal challenge to all these draconian restrictions.?

Or perhaps take every "non Compliant" vehicle to the Thames embankment, the Mall, or Downing st, and set fire to them. "They" get rid of them, "we", the little people, get some satisfaction. No worse that the filth left behind by recent Climate protesters.

WHY, the hell should anyone have to suffer the impact of such atrocious outdated engineering on their health, when we now know that more than two million Londoners are living in areas exceeding legal air limits – including 400,000 children and it is associated with more than 9,500 deaths a year.

Probably because we are killing people who live near the places we drive:rolleyes:

If it wasn't retrospective we would never change

not here to argue rights/wrongs of ULEZ or reasons for introduction
You will be unable to upgrade to Euro 6

London ULEZ is coming like a tsunami so:-
a Stand on the beach and moan
b run to higher ground

least bad solution is store out of the zone
next best, sell it

We live inside the LEZ that's being imposed in Birmingham later this year. I looked at Euro6 conversions, it's thousands... Provided I only move the van every week, it'll be far cheaper just to pay when I need it.

Eventually I'll replace the van and I'll get something newer that's already Euro6.

Hi Lenny we currently have a lunar roadstar 786. Excuse my ignorance but what is a DPF and any ideas where I could get one please. If it works happy to purchase :)

such atrocious outdated engineering
The same that has been bringing the Goods and Services to the "Smoke" for over 100 years, Yeh! Lets go back to Horses?. Putting other`s livelhoods under the cosh, is a sure fire vote winner.

if were killing people then mr kahn is an accomplice to murder ,as he will let you kill people if you give him £12.50 a day

you cant make your van ulez compliant gail even if you got he engine and everything from a euro six van it will still not be accepted has to be built as a euro six from the start your not even in the ulez so not sure why your asking

Then if you don't like it, campaign to ban all motor vehicles as they all kill.

It may be the cheapest option to pay the £12.50 each time you use it.

If we end up being within the ULEZ it will be 12.50 or £100 per day regardless. the charge is per day within the zone whether its parked for 12 months or used daily

OOOOhhhhh did not realise that putting a euro 6 into ours wouldnt work - we looked at that but was extremely expensive. From what I gather if the ULEZ stays as the current map we will have to pass through the ULEZ so the odd daily charge we can afford, but if LBWF get the zone extended to the whole of the borough we will be completely stuffed from what you have said.

I was asking because as you know I am not very technical. So from what you say our choice is buy a a ready built euro 6 diesel or a 2006 + petrol ( and they are gold dust) as the worst scenarios if the zone extends to include us.

bicycles in the wrong hands kill too, where do you stop?

Paddywack and those supporting your condasending comments should know it only takes the stroke of a pen from like minded people such as you to scrap your current pride and joy.

Hospitals. Look at the number of folk who die in them - would save the NHS billions as well.
Albert Square, Midsummer, Coronation Street and Emmerdale - have tv series highlighting the regular murders.

If you actually read my post in the context of the post I linked too, you will note I was mirroring the language used and quoted. I was not being condescending to the OP, I was merely pointing out that vehicles are killing people and the suggestion that crowdfunding should be accessed to fund legal action to allow this to continue is immoral.
