How do Dometic get away with it!

Our Dometic compressor fridge is not faulty.

Well the replacement one isn't

OK - just wondered because ours only produces a lot of condensate when the door hasnt been shut properly so air gets in.

Sorry to have asked.
Sorry, didn't mean to be harsh.

It is definitely worse on long journeys and ice builds up after 5 or 6 weeks. It's not a big issue but that vessel can freeze up and stops draining.

I noticed at the NEC show that a lot more motorhomes had moved away from Dometic and were installing other brands of fridges.
Yeah I noticed that - I think the manufacturer was Temu looking at the quality of the plastics. They will probably be just as 'good' as Dometic. I did like the way they opened both ways though ..

No worries - perhaps there is some bumpy road or vibration induced effect on the door and cabinet/carcass. Previous ones we have had used positive locks that squished the seals, not so on the van one.

Thats a good Idea - did the compressor fit where the old condenser unit was and did it cope with fridge and freezer?
I converted my fridge with freezer box into just a fridge, for some reason Elddis fitted a 'wheel arch' fridge in the van even though it isn't near the wheel arch, this means it has a cut out at the bottom perfect for the mini compressor unit.

A single bigger compressor unit could feed a fridge and freezer but it would get too complicated with mag valves etc. Easiest way is to use 2 independent systems 🤔
