Just a note on the use of « Geuine Manufacture’s Parts. Just had 3 clutches fitted to my 3litre 2011 IVECO Daily, The first clutch was slipping due to leak from the rear main seal. No Problem , repairing garage insisted on supplying parts. Seal and full clutch fitted. Day one oil pouring from the Bell Housing! Back to Garage. Genuine IVECO seal fitted no leak. Week 3 Clutch starts slipping. Back again. Genuine IVECO Clutch fitted , off we go again. Week 3 again it starts slipping. Now they are starting to loose interest, unfortunately I wasn’t ! Out it came again looks like the Centre plate on the gearbox side has been contaminated, possibly from overlubrication of the release bearing. Now , the Genuine IVECO Clutch is also made by LUK. SO ALL three clutches are manufactured by LUK. IVECO buy them and box them up and charge 1£k for the full kit. Moral of the story check who has stamped the parts! Before parting with your money . The conclusion of this tale is that I believe the Garage have greased the shaft when LUK Specifically say do not grease plastic bearing carriers. The owner of the garage whom I have known for years was adamant that they should be greased. I have just emailed him guidance notes for these bearing from LUK. !
I paid £400.00 less for the current full clutch than IVECO Charged for the same item!
I wait to see if it will start slipping again.
