Anyone got there house insured while they are abroad for 6 months. If so which companys please

As above, the club does but check the new small print. They have changed underwriters, new conditions when we came to renew last month.

From next year we'll probably be limited to 90 days unless we can get a deal with the EU to stay for longer.

Would some members of your close family like to stay at your house for a holiday when you are away to overcome the problem?

We where with the CCC`s Insurers. When we used to R-V in the USA. anything up to 6 months at a time. The limit on our Visa`s, actually.

There are other destinations available as well so I doubt that the duration for which insurers are prepared to cover an empty property will be linked to our leaving the EU.

I presume you have a visa for somewhere for a stay that long.

Most insurance companies limit empty houses to 30 or maximum 90 days.
You could look at the house sitting section, as if you have room to park a Moho on your drive there are full timers who would be quite happy to base themselves there as long as they have access to your garden tap, the external power and the house wifi

The most I got is 90 days, was with c&m club but they jumped from £300 per year to £800 so went on compare the market and got down to £300 for 90 days again.

We already insure our house out for six months at a time

And that's not guaranteed! We've been members for 25 years and can't get house insurance with them at all because we live too close to the sea! We live at one of the highest parts of the island so if we flooded the island would be no more!

We don't have a problem getting 60 days insurance, just can't get longer. Seems daft to me!
we get 180 days with c&mc but thats in essex

We have always used C and MC for a 180 days policy with Royal Sun Alliance BUT I am sure I read somewhere (it was certainly quoted as a fact) that this was no longer available.

Didn't know Comfort did house insurance as well

Yes they do. I have house insurance with Comfort. They mirror the duration within the motorhome policy.

Try the Camc as they do longterm for M/Homers. Or Comfort insurance,. I think you can get up to 9 months away with either one.
