Hotmail/Outlook - No connection today

I have not been able to connect to Hotmail/Outlook today using Chrome.

I just get a message saying 'Something has gone wron'

Have others had the same?

I am getting notifications of e-mails sent.

is there a solution please?

Tried different browser(Firefox). Same problem.

Then re-started computer. Problem solved, but still don't know what caused it.

Yes, switch to Gmail. Which is a serious suggestion, Gmail's spam filters are brilliant and I am always a bit suspicious about any email I get from a Hotmail account. Few professional people would use it.

There are ways to set things up so you won't lose any emails sent to your Hotmail address.

I've had the same message recently with one account and via my security account got informed to change my password on another due to suspect activity. Somat is possibly going on , or just my luck.

Hotmail is gone and the replacement, Outlook has similar security/spam filters to gmail.
For the old hotmail users who wanted to keep their email address, the @hotmail.com emails just exist as, I assume an alias for the Outlook equivalent.
A similar thing happened to my @talk21.com emails - if I check in settings I’ve the replacement bt internet email address available.
