Any help advice gratefully received
This went down our cold water inlet.
No idea how to get it out. We have a Hymer exis I 564.
Would it flush out the drain hole or too large? Could it get in the hot water system?
Many thanks
Kate

As above and all the water from your tank is pumped so it won't go into the system

If you can't get into the tank from above, just leave it in, the pipework is too small for it to go through. Don't worry about it.

Biggest risk is it is stuck in the filler tube, as a recent poster told us about, then filling will be difficult , if in tank I would leave it there 👍

I also recall a similar issue where someone lost a spray nozzle into theirs that definitely got stuck in the fill tube, my fill tube is really hard to access and would be a nightmare to remove, I am very careful 👍🤔

I have found a nozzle that perfectly fits our filler point and lets me walk away and do other things while leaving the water filling.
Great job, right up to the point it did just what you describe and shot into the filler when I went to remove it.

Thankfully I could see it sat in the filler pipe when looking under the seat where the filler pipe work runs, five minutes later after undoing a couple of jubilee clips, I let out a big sigh of relief and it was back in my hand.

Worth looking to see if it is still sat in the pipework....

If the filler tube has a smooth bore it will likely end up in the tank, if not straight away then after a couple of fill`s. In the meantime it may slow your filling down. If Tank has cleaning hatch it should be recoverable if not there is no way it will enter the system, the pump supply hose will be too small. Can you get hands on A Borescope?. you could use that to check if it had cleared the filler pipe?.

Happened to me a week ago!

Here is what to do and what not to do.

I undid the jubilee clips and had water everywhere because the clips were cheap and wouldn't tighten enough. My advice is don't but if you do, the clips you put back on should be JCS Hi-Grip, which have a punched wormgear.

The tank inlet was too narrow so it stuck in the connecting pipe. Water filling took an age as most of it just sprayed back at you. Definitely get it out. Poke it through with a wire coat hanger or a skewer through the tank access cover.

Sounds like you were unlucky, mine was straight forward and reassembled easily.

I find that my unluckiness when it comes to DIY is a usually attributable to an excess of optimism over ability.

But in this case, it also had a lot to do with cheap jubilee clips used by the manufacturer. The wormgear had simply been stripped off when I removed it. Of course, the sensible thing was not to have removed it all and searched for the simpler solution.

Thanks. It’s filling ok so I assume it’s reached the tank. Phew!🙂

Just thought I’d give all you helpful folk a follow up on the above. All was fine for the whole of 2020 and when we drained everything down for winter I took the cap off the tank and there it was. I reached in and retrieved it.
Thanks again🙏🙏🙏😀

Excellent news.

In my case the nozzle became stuck on a bend in the filler tube almost blocking it, so I had to dismantle everything to straighten the tube and get it out. Lots of bad language, barked knuckles and body contortions, but got there in the end though! I now use a Heos filler cap to make sure it cannot happen again :giggle:
