I need to restring our flyscreen, can anyone tell me what size cord and length I need ?
Thanks.

Do you need to re string all of it because it looks fairly complicated. If its just broken at the bottom you can replace just that bit. We used kevlar used for fishing line and kites. Its stronger.

Think you can now get a repair kit from Horrex or possibly from the Dutch guy in the video.

My cord was less than 1mm dia (possibly 0.8mm dia). If you buy fishing line or kevlar for kites, the minimum roll length will far exceed what you need for the job. Rough estimate, 13m of cord required.

The top 3 horizontal cords combine into one within the movable vertical post. The single cord then exits the moveable post and turns at 90° into the bottom rail, around a pivot point (furthest from the door hinge) and finally to an adjustable clamp within the bottom rail. The bottom 3 horizontal cords go to the top rail in the same fashion.

I repaired one on last MH with waxed cord bought from Ebay. Can't remember exact width but it was 2 or 3mm.
If you take the frame apart carefully it is easy to see how the thread runs. A large darning needle was perfect for threading back through the original holes.

Mine just snapped in Spain at the moment.will have to wait until I get home.
Not sure what make it is no markings
It's a Autofail Apache 2013.

Do not tip out the broken strings, you will regret it when you come to refitting a new.
It’s not obvious at first which way they are run.
