Home contents and building insurance - unoccupied for more than 60 days - recommendations?

Our home insurance is shortly due for renewal. We'd like to get away into Europe for 2 to 3 months at some point during the next year.

Anyone any recommendations for insurers that provide cover for homes unoccupied for more than 60 days?

I posted some information last year on this and came up with M&S Insurance. The Bike insurance is also very good. If you search for house insurance you will get loads of links.

Ring the mob you're with at the moment.
When we took out our insurance I asked the same question.
It appears that over the 60 days we continue to be covered but to a lower standard.
From memory, we arent covered for broken glass but the structure of the building is covered.
IE. Should a car smash into the house or a lump of ice fall out of a passing plane we're covered.
As we live in a low crime area and have a relative close by, I'm not overly concerned.

C&MC for us after ringing goodness knows how many. Not cheap but we have cover for 90 day unoccupancy, flooding was the problem but they accepted the risk.

Edit, we don't have any other policies with them just membership.

Neither CMC nor CCC would cover us (too close to a watercourse) but we ended up with NFU. Beyond 60 days we have to have a named person visiting once a week to check house, but tbh that provides us with some reassurance, so that we arrange that now even for shorter absences.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Like Emmit said, our current insurers would insure us but with significantly reduced cover after 60 days unoccupied.

If anyone needs something similar, the cheapest cover we found (including quotes from the suggested M&S and C&MC) for full unoccupied cover up to 90 days was with HomeProtect (trading name of Avantia Insurance, and with policy underwritten by AXA).

They also provide cover (at higher cost again) for up to 180 days unoccupied if you need that - we don't.
