We’re new. Bought first MH March 2021
Our insurance is due renewal and we've just been told that our current provider, Policy Expert, will not provide cover for anyone who will be away from their home for more than 45 days. I assume that this problem is familiar to others who, like us, travel abroad for up to the maximum permitted 90 days. Is there an insurance company that anyone can recommend which will provide cover for absence of that length?

Caravan Club (CAMH) or Camping & Caravanning Club both do 90 days.

M and S. 90 days away at a time.
Cover for belongings in the Motorhome while away or at home.
Cover for bikes on/in the Motorhome.
Very fair prices.
All done online in 10 minutes.

Second M&S, bike cover is excellent particularly if you have more than one. You just insure the most expensive one and every other bike is covered!

Aviva Insurance will increase the cover to 90 days for an additional £20 - I had to specify the dates this was to cover but saves changing the provider.

Presently no idea regarding any prospective dates but glad to have the facility. M&S bank quotation process was very straightforward and released me from filling in detailed stuff which is so tedious.

Do Aviva have restrictions ie someone needs to inspect the property every week etc
With M&S there are no restrictions.

Aviva do not require any further measures, such as inspections, although I suggest you arrange for someone to flush toilets and run water through basins to replenish evaporated water to prevent traps drying out - or cover in cling film!
