Looking for recent (2021/22) experience of where we might park overnight in a 6m coachbuilt moho if the ferry from Ireland gets delayed arriving into Holyhead. Other threads and forums have info from 2011 and 2015. Would appreciate something more recent if available. Ta muchly

There a a couple of lay-bys on the A5 bypass coming out of the terminal, the Irish trucks sometimes use them.
otherwise you could turn right out of the terminal and head towards the marina, and park on the front.

I stayed here once, right next to the entrance, wagon noise was ok (ish)

Park on the front between the Yacht Club and the Sea Cadets/Mackenzie Pier just keep to the left as you approach the ferry terminal

I stay at the RSPB south stack car park outside Holyhead, a bit windy as it’s on a cliff top,

Thanks for the suggestions. My main worry was that Holyhead would be fed up with ‘wild’ campers or huge trucks - sounds like they are still reasonably relaxed about it.

Update 24/05/22. Near the RNLI lifeboat station (Newry Beach) there’s a levelled parkup that can accommodate 6/8 vans. Looks good but was full. We went down to the marina and discovered it is a private car park for those who pay for moorings. The signs telling you that are VERY discrete! (They were very nice about my mistake). Conversations with locals discovered that they are starting to get annoyed with too many vans parking up for too long along Beach Road and “they are getting moved on” - not clear by whom.
