Has anyone got any recommendations for decent priced hire cars in Benidorm TIA

If you want a 'quality' rental, although may not be the cheapest, try Zest Car Rental - they come out as the top agency every year in the Consumer Association Which? reports.

But I know there will be local companies that will offer a cheaper deal, especially at Alicante Airport.

Not a company i have ever used.. But over the years in Benidorm I have seen this company mentioned a lot, mainly on Facebook and seems to get good reviews.

Be wary of some, I guess like all hire companies there are some real horror stories...

Even for me at 100 miles awat the cheapest deal is always Alicante airport.

If your in Benidorm take the tram to Alicante and then bus to car hire.

Some friends have just booked one through DoyouSpain which they will collect from Alicante airport and for 7 days it’s costing a total of £7.
They already have the yearly excess insurance bought at home for around £40 so that’s all they will pay.

If the question is in relation to picking up a hire car - many/most of the cheapest ones are 'off-airport', just down the road, so it would be no problem picking up with your van at the depot.

You can get a 6m motorhome very close, in fact into the airport - but if you mean parking for the airport, I don't know where would be closest?

When we fly in we get collected by a mini-bus from the arrivals area, it is in the pick-up zone (stops 1 - 5) on the lower ground floor (floor [minus] -2). I don't recall there being any barriers to go through either way, because we get dropped off there too. It is used by off-airport car hire firms and parking firms, mostly using mini-buses, but there is room for access by full size coaches. There are handy toilets right next to the stops 1-5.

If you just want to go in & drop off you can go up to departures through the barriers & first 15 minutes is free. After that it is expensive.Or the same place go in on the right hand side , buses only, like @Hagstrom does & pick up & straight out.
Downstairs -1 ,arrivals, was only designed for people to use the multi story & now the available space on the right has been completely closed off due to the free loaders ruining it for everyone . Additionally it is also awkward to get out at the end in a longer vehicle pr with a trailer. Here you can also go in the right hand side bus/mini bus pick up drop off.

If you actually wish to park it then there is an over height area in what was the old parking area & is now 'long stay ' I believe. Only problem with that is if you have any difficulty walking it is a fair distance.

We used goldcar in november as the price was good. I had the stand alone insurance as I usually do. The chap when we went to pick up was a nasty bully, I expect to get a bit of hard sell about the insurance but he was an out and out liar. Only gave in when I said that other campers from Villasol did exactly the same.

It left me anxious for the duration of the rental thinking that if we did breakdown and phoned that he might refuse to arrange the truck etc, knew we'd have to pay and claim it back. He said he wouldnt give us receipts etc A different chap was there when we dropped it off who was nice. Others have had ok experiences. I am no shrinking violet by the way!

Put me off using them again, wish I'd noted his name.
