evening all, recently had the mot done on my 98 Bessacarr E600 and had advisories regarding the high level light. Some of the LED’s have stopped working.
Is there a way of accessing the unit or do I start cutting holes in the back of the cupboards looking for it.
Thanks in advance
Regards Rich Bell

Usually a push fit into clips or small screws possibly heads covered with a cap.. (y)

A photo might elicit more information? For example a Hella or LED brakelight will have no replaceable parts so you'd need a complete ,amp before starting the job.

Mine is a Hella and I replaced all of the push in bulbs in mine. Replacements were about 10p each. The high level brake light was not working (it was full of water) at the MOT, and I was given an advisory - the first I ever had on any vehicle.

I had a few go on mine, a Hella unit, they had little bulbs and not led afaik.

The replacements for mine were 12v 2.3w angel eye bulbs.

You were blessed with an Intelligent Tester Dave
For those that dont know.

Dave's faulty light was technically an absolute failure in the book, less than 50% of leds working = a Fail
ergo more than half working definite PASS or As in Dave's case None is a new ball game.

As dismantling is not allowed The tester could not prove the Lamp was wired as a stop lamp
and made the fairest assumption that it was not.
The advisory should therefor read hi level lamp inoperative notice the lack of (Brake Light in the description)
However with only 1 LED coming on with the stop lights proves beyond all doubt that it is a stop lamp and fails

Hi all, thanks for your input, I have managed to get around to take some pictures of the unit, didn’t realise how dirty the van was until I looked at the pics.
Mine was noted as an auxiliary brake light with some light units not working and it went on the mot as an advisory.
Any advice on removing it for repair is appreciated and welcome.
Regards Rich

Mine has failed and the garage said they couldn't get it out without destroying it as it was glued in...
they suggested covering it with red tape...:D
