I just received my renewal quote for Motorhome insurance. Premium increased by 20% despite extra no claims bonus and no incidents or convictions. Any recommendations for specialist insurers for ageing drivers with old Motorhome to insure.

Another vote for LV. We have our MH on a multicar policy with them. Renewal just came through for the four vehicles. Only £15 more than last year and that was with Mrs B having a shunt in her brand new motor in December. First class service from them every time we have needed to speak to them.Give LV= a try they are very competitive

Mine did the same when I changed to CAMC after 7 years with Comfort without having made any claim or changes to my circumstances. My insurance through CAMC actually went down over £100 this year.

Comfort are very, very good with claims in my experience; actual claim was handled directly by Aviva themselves and no quibbles - just told them over the phone what had happened and the claim value (destroyed awning) and that was it. Emailed the invoice to them and was paid within 3 days. Breakdown was good as well - handled by an agent and they did not argue when I said that the van was stuck in limp mode - just sent a Crouch recovery flatbed directlyJust sourced my latest cover through Comfort, UW's are Aviva. Buying process easy, cover looks good. Real test is claim time though......

We have just renewed. Now in our third year with them. They are IMO one of the best companies to deal with I have ever come across. Pleased you got a good deal safe travels.Just taken out my first MH policy with LV online. Seems very reasonable. Friendly help and very clear website. It’s an adapted car insurance engine so may not recognise a MH registration number but you can enter base vehicle then choose “Motorhome” along with the engine size. No problems. 180 days Europe breakdown cover costs about 30-odd £ more than top UK one at £110 when I looked.

this might help next time you give it a try? have you tried just putting base vehicle name in or ring them they are quite helpfulWith CaravanGuard but last 2 years premium's gone up 10% each year - so just rang LV who sound good from the above - BUT they won't insure Elddis! And not just mine, any Elddis - am I more likely to bang into something driving one? do they know something we don't? (sarcastic replies not needed...)
We’ve got a Sunlight Cliff 600 based on a Ducato……it‘s recorded as a Capron at DVLA,which is all over the C of C and other import paperwork. It‘s a UK, RHD vehicle. With CaravanGuard but last 2 years premium's gone up 10% each year - so just rang LV who sound good from the above - BUT they won't insure Elddis! Exactly what I did last Oct after 9 claim free years with Comfort when the renewal premium increased hugely.I just changed to CAMC which is underwritten by Devitt.
They were much cheaper than all others much to my surprise.

We had to tell ford our reg no and vehicle id no to be added to the UK list for recalls etc it might be worth you checking that fiat have you listed. We’ve got a Sunlight Cliff 600 based on a Ducato……it‘s recorded as a Capron at DVLA,which is all over the C of C and other import paperwork. Numerous websites I‘ve been on to buy parts don’t recognise my registration number when I put it in.

I am surprised. Were you speaking h to them, or working via the website? With CaravanGuard but last 2 years premium's gone up 10% each year - so just rang LV who sound good from the above - BUT they won't insure Elddis! hi CarolynWe’ve been with Comfort for years but I’ve just had our quote this morning and it’s gone up from £301 to £380 , bit of a shock to say the least. We didn’t leave the country last year! I’ve just got a quote from C&Cc for £350 with Ageas, but I will certainly be trying LV but my first effort couldn’t find “base Vehicle” anywhere on their website so it just came up as a van.
