Maybe this is a dumb question, but does anyone know how the Low Emission Zone works on the east side of the M25?

Looking at several different LEZ maps of the Dartford side of the M25, the zone boundary seems to cross beyond the M25. Can that be right? It would mean going the Heathrow side for us with our 'pre-loved' van.:Eeek:

Yep the maps are correct and apparently there are plans to extend the Low Emission Zone further and to other towns. There are a number of other threads regarding the low emission zones on here that might help.

Good luck xxxx

Sounds like they're successfully making "social lepers" out of us without any resistance.Start with set boundaries and then extend them gradually outwards.
That's the way to rule a country... NOT.:Eeek:

The same thing happened with smoking in public places etc.

You mention "several" maps but there is only one definitive map - on the LEZ site Link Removed. On that page, backed up by a FAQ page Link Removed it does say that the M25 itself is not included in the LEZ.

If all you wish to do is use the M25 to cross the Thames via the Dartford Crossing you will be OK.

That's interesting, have you any more details? I've looked into the LEZ a fair bit as a result of threads on this and other forums and haven't seen anything.

It isn't possible for the GLA to extend the existing zone because it covers the whole of the area which the GLA controls already - so it would need action by other local authorities for that to happen.
