Help! Trip computer on Fiat Ducato

Tried to re set the above today and although the mode button makes a noise it doesn't change anything, and the up and down arrows don't do anything either! Only went to do it because the clock is flashing the wrong time and getting on my nerves, now I'm worried its something costly to fix. Can anyone help please?

Certain settings need you to have the ignition on, but engine not running. They are really clunky to use, and not very friendly in my opinion

Turn the key till the dash lights up then you have access to more functions.
They lock you out to stop you fiddling whilst the engine is running

As posted, many functions won't work if the engine is running

It may be worth downloading a copy of the manual - as the fiat trip computer settings (same as my pug boxer) is not that intuitive
