Help finding fuses

This might seem straightforward but I am not having much luck. I am trying to get 40 amp fuses, mini blade with LEDs. I can get all from 5 amp to 35amp but struggling to get 40amp with LEDs. Halfords don't stock them and I can't find them online anywhere. Has anybody got any ideas (short of putting two 20's in! - only joking!)

I'm intrigued to know how they get the LED to light when the fuse has blown and there's no voltage flowing........ Is it to do with the LEDiode being polarity sensitive?

If I understand correctly the 'blow' rating is twice the continuous, so does that mean your wiring will have to support 80amps for the short burst before the 40amp fuse blows?

Sorted. On closer inspection (It was out of sight and I was having to work by touch) It is NOT a mini but standard fuse. Doh! (The others are minis)

Yes, that's about right. Fuses work by melting, so there's got to be a big difference between the normal continuous current that it can carry 24/7, and the current required to melt it. The amps on the fuse label is the max continuous current it can carry without getting too hot. It's a good idea to stick to about 80% of that value for everyday use.
