Have a 4a fan connected to a 10a CBE hella socket

The end on the hella plug is getting hot

Any ideas why this is?

Thanks

Have you tried cleaning the contact tip so it provides a better contact?
Might help

A bit of lacquer on the copper stopping corrosion most likely. Gives just enough resistance for the plug to get warm. Give the tip a light sand to improve the connection

Usual reason for a plug or socket getting hot is a loose connection in the plug or socket or poor contact between the plug & socket.
If the plug & socket are making good contact I would check the connections in both plug & socket.
