A nice sunny day at the beach and I stupidly reversed into a boat

The only damage was a shattered nearside red lens but I need to replace the whole lens (near side: stop&tail light, indicator, reflector, reversing lamp).
Unfortunately it seems I have to buy a complete light fitment rather than just the plastic lens, unless someone knows better.

Here's a set for £53.91

But an "identical" set for a caravan costs £49.41 because it has triangular reflectors rather than square ones (so "only" suitable for caravans).

Why is this?

£54 sounds like quite a result 👍 I am yet to damage anything anywhere near that cheap on my Hymer 🤔👍

get it bought, fitted and forget it ever happened , in fact deny it ever happened if the boat owner comes after you 😁

What intrigues me is how did you get moho in the water to hit a boat in the first ace

Thanks but no thanks.
I’m sure I didn’t damage the boat and took a photo to support this. However, I reported it to the local harbour warden and left a message in the boat with my details and an apology. I try to be responsible for my actions!

Yes, I ordered it and delivery is supposed to be Monday.

We arrived at Burnham Overy Staithe at high tide and parked with the front wheels almost touching the water. The sun was shining, the water was blue and little boats bobbed at anchor. At first the cars kept a decent space behind us but eventually someone started a “second row” (actually a fifth row) so I didn’t have space to reverse out.

Many times in that situation I have gone forward and escaped via the boat launching route but that was blocked. So I reversed along the hard with the intention of driving forward through the gap which I had left. Unfortunately someone had already occupied it and I went further back, looking for a gap. What I didn’t consider was boats which had now been stranded, so it was my lack of attention which caused the problem.

I only just touched the boat because I saw red plastic shoot out behind me but my light bulb remained intact.

Probably too late now, but I repaired a tail lens on previous motorhome by aralditing the bits together.
Nautical rules of the road:
Green to green, red to red. Perfect safety, go ahead.
Green to red, red to green. Stuff 'em all, just go between.

Thanks.
Sadly there were bits everywhere, scattered across gravel, and some were quite small. I collected them together in case I needed a last-ditch emergency repair BUT my new set should be delivered on Monday (I need it on Thursday, so fingers crossed).
