A plastic lug has broken off - it keeps the cord tensioned and is irreparable thank you.

No it ain't. Replace broken lug with a self tapping screw and re-thread the cord. See YouTube there's a few vids on the subject

Must be a rush on with these!
Just broke ours yesterday- tensioning cords now hanging loose - so I am guessing that as suggested a lug has broken off - if anyone has a link to how you repair them much appreciated - I will see what I can find in the meantime as I cant yet see how you separate the inside piece/cassette?
