We have a Bessacarr E560 with a fixed bed. There is a fabric covered headboard fixed to the rear wall. Has anyone any idea how this is fixed as I wish to dismount it? Many thanks.

No idea, but if you care to wait a couple of weeks I've got our Bolero (similar model) booked in for re-upholstery!

I'm currently waiting for a quote on re-upholstery and the upholsterer asked me. I think it is held on with a few nails from a gun but not sure.

On our Exsis the headboard is fixed to rear wall and fixings are hidden by the head rests you just pull them off and fixings are behind.dont know if yours are similar

Regal have "quoted" me just under £2000 for leather trimmed fabric all seats, bedhead, trimmings and 5 cushions. They're also making "proper" curtains to match for £200 extra. Have seen a few examples of their work which is excellent - presume they know how to get the headboard off!

@Speve ours is a one-piece headboard, no apparent fixings but I'm not going to mess!

Surprised it's nailed as that doesn't leave much option for removing or refixing again if I were you I would screw it back when your finished (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

Thought about Regal but they're nearly 300 miles from us, gone to a local guy for a quote.

Probably use velcro, though I don't know if it will ever need to come off again, lasted ten years so far.

I'll post photo's but it'll be in the New Year. He needs it for a week and a half so we've booked it in middle two weeks of January once we return from our Hogmanay bash. I was pleased at the price and very happy to go local with the job.

No Velcro, hidden nails, it may be the Swift group but it's an entirely different build. We had a Swift van as well and that was different all round.

Really? We are talking about replacing some seat covers here - not new seats?

Been quoted near £2000 elsewhere, plus a 600 mile round trip and three nights away. Could have been cheaper except for the textile we chose.

I guess that the price is also plus VAT?

Have you not tried a local upholsterer? Stitching new covers is not hard and doesn't take long - I do have some experience

That is the local upholsterer, even then he's over 20 miles away. The joys of living in a rural area. We have seen his work, it's good, and if there are any problems it's not a 600 mile round trip to sort it out.
