Has anyone replaced their lpg oven with an electric all in one microwave/air fryer/convection oven?

Yes agreed ref the microwave, my question was more about the air fryer and convection oven difference.
OK, that's easy to describe in relation to ours.
You can bake in both: https://www.airfryeryum.com/air-fryer-baking-guide/

The only difference between and air fryer and convection oven is that the heat from the air fryer is at the top whereas in a convection oven it is from the bottom but as both use a fan to circulate the air I'm not sure what in reality is the difference to actually cooking.

Is it just the latest 'fad' to get people to think that their perfectly usable microwave/convection oven is 'useless' so they need to get a microwave/air fryer instead?

Is yours an oven or an air fryer?
I tend to agree with you and it's one reason why we stick with 'separates'. In a combo unit, if one part breaks, it can render both functions 'out of service'. Our fan oven heats from the back. The air fryer heats from the top. When cooking chips (for example) in the air fryer, at 180C for 24 mins, (we like them rich golden colour), the top shelf cooks well but the bottom shelf needs about 4 mins longer to reach the same colouring. Also, the chips are cooked in the airfryer, on either shelf/both shelves, before the traditional oven has heated up.

UPDATE - the combi oven arrived and its the right size, however the air fry function is basically a fan assisted grill (which they all are) BUT it has no variable power AND time function, it just varies the length of cooking time, which isnt what we wanted ...... its a shame because the dimensions are great for our particular application. we might have a little play with it though, as my brain is telling me IF it is just a glorified fan oven, then surely we could use it as fan oven ......

So if an air fryer is basically a convection oven, with a heat source and a fan to circulate that heat there are different temp and time settings on this oven ....So, is an air fryer a convection oven ?

We didn't want to actually use it in case it's going back though to check it!

An air fryer circulates more direct heat faster than a convection oven so cooks faster using less leccy and crisps food better.

I would consider it to be similar to the fan-assisted feature of a conventional oven. More efficient though, partly because it's smaller.

I think it is supposed to have an air fryer icon as according to the seller you control the air fryer via the app ...?

a bit more light on the shade, after speaking to the tech department (again) ..... it turns out that the convection icon, is actually the air fry icon. i dont want to tell myself that i told me so, but i did in post #63 ......

and after a short test - the french fries are fried ........... so its just a case of getting used to the settings ( i was going to say that SWMS just needs to learn how to cook, but ive never been that brave ...)

i think its a keeper but will try it out next week at the Thorpe rally

You should listen to yourself more often!:giggler:

latest test - does the air fryer it work without being connected to wifi - NO it doesnt - this particular model MUST be connected to the internet, the other bigger models (which wont fit our space) have the air fryer function built into the operating panel. We are pretty much always connected to the internet and so its not an issue and its ONLY the air fry function that wouldnt be usable if we had no access to the internet.

as lots of things motorhoming (and often in life) there is usually a compromise and compromises only work if you want them to .... we can live with this one !!

it IS just a convection oven in principle, though the air is supposed to be moved around a lot faster, so on that principle, is it better to go for a small combo rather than a bigger one, ie. less air to move around ???
Well no - bigger fan, hotter element, smaller space plus some airflow shaping = air fryer.
A rectangular box can't compete

I take on board your comments but this will be a compromise, time will tell if it works out or not!

Compromise usually means no one part works as well as separate units eg you can boil a kettle in an oven but no one would.
My home cooker has a grill which is never used but I could use it to make toast. However the toaster makes better toast quicker.

Does it need Internet access or just WiFi? I.e. if you connect it to a local hot-spot can you use it, or does it need Internet?

it needs the phone and the 'cooker' both connected to the same sysytem. i intend using a mifi or starlink when touring.

Following this with interest.
At home we have had a Bosch combi microwave/oven for over 12 years.
It is above a conventional fan oven to give a twin oven+ configuration.
We almost never use the conventional fan oven now.
Almost everything cooks in the combi.
The only downside is that the grill only works with the door closed so we never use that.
The grill in the conventional oven gets used from time to time.

We recently bought a small air fryer from Lidl at a ridiculously low price just to see how we got on with it.
It has performed very well, and goes away with us in the MH.

There is a gas oven (badged Rapido) in the MH but it is completely useless.
If I could find a Thetford oven to replace it I would, but the dimensions are wrong.

As another "see how we go" we bought a very cheap microwave (pattern emerging) and this just sits in the cupboard above the gas oven, with an extension lead into the toilet.
Crazy Rapido French design.
This works very well so far but is unsophisticated and I prefer digital controls to twisting a knob. [Ummm...]
So time to replace the microwave with something better.
The little air fryer meets all our needs in that direction.

Now looking for a better, larger microwave and combination oven.
Not bothered abut "air fryer" functions, and as with others I suspect that the combi ovens aren't true air fryers because of the internal size, but the term "air fryer" sells product.
Main expected uses are full sized pizzas and ready meals such as curries. Also Charlie Bingham lasagne.

So as I said I am watching this thread with keen interest.
I will also consult Which? to see if they have any recommendations.

We may have an unused domestic gas oven for sale as thinking of replacing it with a combination electric one.
Got to get the use of the £5000 victron kit .

We've had a combi oven/microwave combo for years and it's been great.
We also have a separate microwave, air fryer and separate gas oven in our motorhome, hence the desire to go down to one appliance.
Whilst I understand the pitfalls of that there is also a benefit to us in reducing gas needs, though to be honest we rarely use the gas oven, just the microwave and air fryer.

I also agree that one do it all appliance at this price range of under £110 is NOT going to be perfect. I was happy to spend a lot more to get the right one, but it's the size that's our deciding factor.

If it does a decent job (and it worked fine on the small test we did) then the fitted oven is coming out along with the microwave, which will free up a cupboard, and the air fryer will also be left at home. That will leave the George Foreman, a slow cooker, table top pizza oven and the toaster, unless the grill on the combi oven

Last year we got rid of our gas oven (tec tower) as it was not very good,
After we replaced our fridge/cold cupboard we fitted a microwave on the top much more use to us, but we do have a small air fryer as well.

we hadnt really considered one of those, mainly because it doesnt have the microwave function

Bit messy if you want cheese on toast though! :giggle:

People have an actual oven? wow!, us continentals don`t have that, we do have a full automatic coffee machine though ............😁
I have French Hymer and I miss an oven and microwave, do the French all eat out ?

We toast a whole loaf before we leave and keep it in the freezer. At half a slice a day for me and a quarter slice for Jane we can last a month off toaster grid.
We just have an electric toaster, running off the 1600W inverter (and a low wattage kettle)
