Hi,

Has anyone fitted a speaker into their van fed from the cab’s head unit?

We travel in our coachbuilt MH (Chausson Flash 03) with two children in the back but on long journeys if we have the radio we have to turn it up very loud in the cab for them to hear it properly in the back.

Has anyone ran a speaker into the back from the head unit in the cab? Any tips?

probably not difficult, as most radios have rear outputs. I assume your children are pre smart phone age as all the kids i see in vans have ear speakers firmly in place

Big 8 inch speakers in ours gives great base, attaching the speakers to the wires is the easy bit, getting them to the rear is the hard part!!

Yes I did install speakers either side of the bed in the rear of the van. I ran cables to the front but I could not get the head out so got the dealer to pop the head out and connect in to the rear during a service. The head is designed for 4 speakers and you can balance L&R and fade Back and front. I have connected audio output from Skybox into the radio aux input so we can have tv sound through all 4 speakers if wanted. This is handy if using both front and rear TV as there is sometimes a slight sound delay on one of the TV sound compared to the other.
