We have a much loved 1994 Neismann Bichoff Flair 6700 presently on UK plates, and want to re register this in France. Unfortunately we do not have any of the original import paperwork.
I have contacted Neismann Bichoff, only to be told that they do not have any records for vehicles of this age from pre-computer times.
Does any one know what we will need, how to get them, or what tests are needed and where to go to get them? Or anyone who can guide us through this seeming interminable maze of regulation.

Hi and welcome.
Many have but probably not a m/h of such maturity.
I suggest you Google that question and read the correct and up to date info on the specialist websites.
I've done that for you so open the link below. The hits are for a car but give details of documents needed. I expect it'll be fundamentally the same for a m/h.............

Thanks, already done this, but a camper is a different animal to a car or other direct manufactured vehicle, as it has been converted, with other equipment that requires compliance, such as electricity to the living quarters, gas appliances, water tanks and other parts which could be a hazard if not up standard, that will need to be up tested and certified as acceptable.
Normally the camper manufacturer can supply these compliance's, but because of the age of this machine, Nesimann Bichoff does not have these documents for this model as it was before they kept these records and document archives on computer.
France being France, in the absence of documentary records of these compliance's, the route to get there seems to be a very convoluted maze.
If it were just the mechanics and MOT type tests, this would be much more easy to achieve, and relatively straight forward

Hmm, if you can't get the docs you're a bit stymied.
I've imported many old motorbikes and a couple of cars into France when I had absolutely no technical or compliance documents and the manufacturer didn't have any of the old records. I imported them under the classification 'Automobile de collection' but I doubt that your m/h will be old enough for another 3 years as the vehicles must be at least 30 yrs old.

Are you living in France at the moment? Can you cope with the language to start with . If you're fluent or just about then call this person. If you're not then let me know with a PM .

Hi Bob,
I think yodeli's reply tells you everything
If she struggled to do it being French you stand no chance.
I doubt it will be a cheap exersize and may cost a good percentage of the vans market value.

No... Indeed! I do think he has all his chances! If you read his website you will see he is specialised in getting certificate of conformity for foreign Moho or imported self built vans. He is really good, and note that I had to face in Toulouse some stupid men who had decided to annoy me, hence my struggling. It was all different in Brive-La-Gaillarde. The inspector didn't even visit my Moho. He just said, Mister Boullet did the job yes? Yes I answered... Ok...be back in a minute with your papers!!!!
That was it! The man is well known for his excellent work.
