I've decided to hardwire my garmin dash cam to tidy up wiring. It requires both a permanent and switched live wire along with a ground.

Having read various threads it would seem that people are generally using fuse F49 for the switched one and the bolt at the bottom right of the fuse box for the ground, but which fuse have you used for the permanent live? I was thinking maybe F32 lighting of roof lights in the passenger compartment might be permanently live? I know I could get my multimeter out but it's cold and dark out now.

Van is a 2019 ducato.

Many thanks

Stroppy Bird as you say we used F49 and the bolt for the ground as per below.

Our Nextbase dashcam doesn't need a permanent live and not sure why your Garmin would unless it's to power a "parking mode" option? Our Nextbase uses it's internal battery for that mode.
Ours is an X250 (2013) but assuming the fusebox in the dash is the same as yours F32 (2nd from the left - bottom row @7.5A) is for the internal roof lighting (I guess predicated on the original van layout - what it's used for in a motorhome conversion?) and appears to be a permanent live to the battery. Whether it's the vehicle or leisure battery? If it's the vehicle you may have to be careful not to run that down as a low battery warning can trigger issues with the airbag \ pre-tensioner control unit.

Thanks Gellyneck

The garmin has a parking mode option that you can set for a short while after the engine has turned off, so it’s not permanently on. I think it has an automatic cut off if it detects the battery voltage dropping too low.
