Re above had lots of help from the forum, re my two leisure batteries going down.

VanBitz suggested charge both up , disconnect them leave for twelve hours they then should read over 12.7. Re check voltage after another 12 hours, voltage should not below 12.5. Did all this and batteries still showing 12.6.

What to next?

May not reveal sulphation. The parts of the plates not sulphated can perform normally but the capacity of the batteries may be much reduced by the bits that are. According to the AA man that visited my neighbour sulphation can lie hidden until you want to go to a deeper discharge.
 
Leave them another 24hrs and see what the voltage is then.
